Unvented Hot Water Systems
The UK has seen the popularity of high efficiency unvented hot water systems grow significantly in recent years. But what exactly is an unvented hot water system?
Unvented hot water systems have a high efficiency pressurised cylinder which is fed directly from the cold water mains supply. They are very efficient at delivering high pressure fast running hot water to all taps and showers throughout the property.
Unvented hot water systems exceed the Energy Efficiency Partnerships 'Best Practice' for recovery times and insulation levels. This means the system heats up quicker and is more efficient at retaining the water temperature.
There are other benefits too, an unvented hot water system does not require water tanks in the loft, so the existing tanks can be disposed of. This makes an unvented hot water system more hygienic and space saving.
The unvented hot water system cylinder can also be placed anywhere in the property. It does not need to be located in the airing cupboard. The system cylinder could be installed somewhere less central, such as the garage.

We will conduct a site survey to assess the size of property, the number of occupants, your lifestyle requirements, location options, mains water pressure and flow rate. Our assessment will enable us to size your unvented cylinder correctly and recommend the best option suited to your needs.
We will upgrade your water mains supply, if necessary.
Unvented cylinders require high flow rates from the cold water mains supply. We will test your flow rate and advise you accordingly to ensure your system will function correctly.
We are BPEC registered installers.
We are a BPEC registered installer. It is law that only suitably qualified engineers work on unvented hot water installations. All our work which falls under the Building Regulations is notified to the Gas Safe Register or APHC.
We are WRAS approved installers.
We are Water Regulations Advisory Scheme approved which means we are fully compliant and up-to-date with water supply regulations.
We will register your cylinder on completion.
Once we have completed the installation of your cylinder we will notify Gas Safe who in turn will issue you a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate. This certificate is a requirement for any future Home Information Pack.
