Mr Smith owns a town house with two bathrooms and a kitchen spread over three floors. The current heating system could not provide the layout of this type of house with even water pressure in the kitchen and bathrooms so taps and showers would often run cold or slow.
Mr Smith was seeking a solution which was compact, yet capable of delivering high volumes of hot water in all the bathrooms and kitchen even when all the taps and showers were being used at the same time.
Mr Smith contacted several heating installers and they all recommended installing a combination boiler in the kitchen. Mr Smith felt unsure a combination boiler could really deliver what he wanted and he was keen not to have his boiler in the kitchen which was tight for space.
Mr Smith was recommended Green Choice Heating and we visited his property to conduct a site survey. Our solution was to install a compact unvented storage system boiler unit under the stairs at the property, freeing up space in the kitchen and utilising a redundant area of the property.
A Glow Worm Ultrapower 100SXi unit was selected. This unit incorporates a 30Kw gas boiler which is 91.5% efficient with a 100 litre unvented hot water cylinder capable of delivering hot water flow rates in excess of 30 litres/min.
